The product is a medical-grade wearable device. The aim is to monitor COPD patients’ health condition at home. PneuMon will measure a patient’s breathing parameters and collect the data for a personal and professional evaluation. The intuitive application used by PneuMon will allow patients to transfer the recorded health data to doctors remotely. The collected breathing parameters (breathing amplitude, frequency, FEV1/FVC ratio, spirometry test) can be used to detect deterioration and recovery of the patient at home. Current solutions do not provide convenience and access to home monitoring of such parameters. Furthermore, the device is assumed to be multiple times cheaper than the un-portable devices at the hospital. The home monitoring will open the hands of doctors to empower higher-quality decision making and COPD management. In general, the health care costs related to COPD can significantly drop while using PneuMon due to improved patient’s health, the reduction of rehospitalizations and doctor visits.
